Otherwise you'd be connecting two +5V power sources with the cable. Even both item descriptions say: ”link 1 USB device into 2 USB Ports on your PC for more power

Jun 6, 2019 at 14:56 comment added Romen Even that one is possibly no good, it's designed to receive power from both USB ports (which are female for some reason) and this would mean the laptop battery is still giving power to the portable display. Maybe there's a way to limit or disable the laptop's power output though...
