My MoBO is GA-F2A55M-DS2 rev3.0. Technically, it supports PCI-E 3.0 but my APU (A4-4000) limits it to PCI-E 2.0 as per the manuals (FM2+ APU required for 3.0).

I do not have any d-GPU. The x16 slot is available.

I am looking for at least one USB3.2 or two USB3.1 slots using PCI-E 2.0 x16. Is there any such card available?

The usage is connecting faster external storage devices.

Most cards I found uses x4 which I don't think is enough for full bandwidth.

  • A 4x PCIe 2.0 slot could handle about 16 Gbit/s so it is theoretically possible to get USB 3.1 performance on PCI 2.0 still. You probably will not find any 16x USB 3.2 controller cards. 16x PCIe 2.0 is theoretically fast enough but the full length 8x/16x slot is not necessary for supporting the USB 3.2 speeds on newer generations of PCIe and 4x cards fit in 8x/16x slots so there isn't even a reason to make a card that uses those extra lanes.
