whether the AMD A6-5400B processor supports x64? does it only work on x86?

  • It supports both. That CPU is both x86 (the architecture) and 64-bit (which is a revision to the x86 architecture known as x86-64 that still supports the original 32-bit x86 too). Just wanted to clear up the definitions since you seem to use those "x86" and "x64" terms as if they were opposites of each other.

That CPU was from after the athlon 64 and core 2 duo, so should support AMD64, and according to cpu-world.com, that is the case

The A6-5400B supports the AMD64 instruction set.

The AMD64 instruction set is the same as x64 or x86-64
