I have a hardware device that I want to apply a web user interface on. So I am thinking about adding an embedded hardware web server which can communicate with my hardware (using a software library DLL) and send receive http requests from user.

The tricky part is that the DLL does a lot of processing and I am not sure how to decide what is best (performance and price) to choose.

Processes are mostly reading large number of samples from the device and applying FFT, IFFT, DSP filters and such stuff.

In addition to the need of having a well responsive web server with that can send these samples to the end user (web client).

I thought of trying a raspberry pi with an ARM processor but I am not sure how to calculate its performance regarding what my application need.
