I am (as probably many people right now) in the situation of giving courses online.

I have a 2m wide Whiteboard in my flat and would like to capture my whiteboard writing with a camera to use it in Zoom (or similar platforms).

My Logitech C270 Webcam is not ideal for that. I can place it so that about 2/3 of whiteboard is visible and legible, but not more.

What would be a good camera to record my whiteboard?

  • 1) If you increase the light level, will the image from the C270 improve enough to be adequate? (I'm thinking that a higher ambient light level could permit the C270 to stop down and provide a well-focused image of a larger area). 2) What are its physical height and width for the writing surface of the whiteboard (feet and inches, meters and centimeters, or decimalized Smoots en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoot accepted). – K7AAY Mar 31 at 23:40
  • The whiteboard is 2m wide and 1m high. Unfortunately, I cannot use sunlight because it causes awful reflections on the whiteboard. I am trying with a ceiling lamp and a desk lamp at the moment. – J Fabian Meier Apr 1 at 6:58
