After I chose the processor (Ryzen 7 3700X), I wanted to choose the motherboard for my PC. The Asus ROG Strix X470F Gaming seemed pretty good, but I found that the motherboard requires a BIOS update to work with the processor. However, can it be done only with the Ryzen 7 3700X? I can't afford a "secondary" processor to update the BIOS. If I can't do it, can you recommend another good motherboard which is in the $170-$250 price category?

  • This motherboard does not support bios flashback, so you will need an older CPU to update the bios. AMD thought of that, and lends older CPUs to customers: amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100 But with your budget, I would recommend buying a motherboard with X570 chipset. They are compatible with Ryzen 3000 CPUs out of the box. – user13807 Jan 11 at 23:12
